I don't know where to start. Our trip to the Philippines was a love hate feeling. I hated the rip offs, bold equivalent to "daylight robberies", but it was unlike any other trips we've had because there was an insane amount of "tourmance" - tourists "romance", or tourist-hood. While there's the bad eggs, we too met many good folks who reminded me that a few rotten eggs doesn't necessarily spoil the entire basket.
Because of the close proximity and isolations of the islands/accommodations, we get to mix around a lot with locals and tourists alike, there were alliances, fallouts, and the psychological "games" we were forced to play reminded me of the US reality series, Survivor.
So with that as a reference, let me officially welcome you to Survivor Philippines, Special SG Ed...
Malapascua Island:
Malapascua Island:
Tepanee Beach Resort is located at the lower left of the island (where the brown edge is). Bounty Beach seems to be the only beach accessible by walking. It's also where most of the resorts, restaurants and cafes are located along.
Cebu:
Malapascua island is located north of Cebu, and Mactan island is in the middle where Lapu Lapu City is. Mactan island is separated by 2 bridges which leads you to Mandaue City. From there, it's the central location to travel either north (Malapascua) or south (Oslob) of Cebu.
Crimson Spa Resort is located on the right coast, between Tambuli and Vistamar resort (can't find a better map which pinpoints the exact location of Crimson Spa). The airport is around 30 mins from our resort. The shuttle bus travels by the new bridge to Mandaue and Cebu City.
Mandaue/Cebu City:
Ignore the star cos this is supposed to be Alpa City Suites City Map, but it's the most comprehensive one I can find online. Ayala Mall is to the left, while SM Mall is near to the bottom. Travelling to Bohol requires us to leave from the Cebu International Port which is nearer to SM Mall. However, even though they all look within walking distance, they're actually pretty far. Best to commute by metered taxi.
